Electronic Chevrolet Volt

Being a spectator in the recently concluded NAIAS was truly a priviledge for me as I was able to witness a true posh car. Yeah, I am talking about the Electronic Chevrolet Volt.

Electronic Chevrolet Volt

It was first shown at the NAIAS which was held in Detroit. Isn’t that a blessing? I was one among those who saw and touched the General Motors’ new electric powered Chevrolet Volt. The idea to produce an electronic car came up because of the high demand for fuel efficient cars.

The battery operated electronic automobile also uses a gas engine to create additional electricity and power. This version of the Chevrolet Volt is run by E85 that delivers 150 miles-per-gallon (mpg).

At the show, a new family of propulsion systems was also released - the E-flex System. This is a system that produces energy from gasoline, ethanol, bio-diesel or hydrogen. And the Volt is the first car from GM to have the E-flex system.

Too bad, we have to wait for the car to be released in the market as a production vehicle and as something you can actually drive. Yes, the presentation is just to show the public that the vehicle is a concept, so the car is more like an eye candy for now. I just hope that when the car is released, it would have the same features and auto body parts as I saw it at the show.
