There are many car enthusiasts who witnessed the evolution of the super famous Mitsubishi Eclipse to the present front-wheel-drive highway cruiser - from the previous turbocharged, all-wheel-drive thrilling ride it once was to the V6-powered unit. According to some news, the revelation of the real Mitsubishi Concept-RA will be during the 2008 Detroit Auto Show in January and they will have the original Eclipse on the show as well.

The new concept was given the features of the first-gen cars, with a low slung body as well as a perfectly arching roof line. The car is also matched with a Boxster-looking rear end with its fender flares given more functional extraction vents to boost its design, which all comes from lightweight materials and an eco-friendly though potent power plant.

There are more features installed on the concept car just like the aluminum space frame on most of the body panels including the hood and fenders which are also made from recyclable plastic. It also has the new 2.2L four-cylinder turbodiesel with its diesel MIVEC valve timing technology with direct injection and piezoelectric injectors. This new feature is installed to fill the necessary equipment to pass the strict emision rate of the present government.

The Concept-RA is one among the most exciting concepts in Detroit this year not only because the car looks so sharp but because the Japanese car maker gave it their best shot. Plus, according to them, the new car wears a new drive train and the cutting edge power plant that they say promises to bring fame in the future. The new concept car ties with the first-generation Eclipse. Just like the Acura car antenna which can be access online, this piece of news is also available on Autoblog.com.

GranTurismo Now In Korea

When you talk about plush cars, you can never left Maserati out of the discussion.  For years, we have been spellbound by the beauty of Maserati cars with that trident adorning its nose. The GranTurismo from Maserati is one of the hottest cars today and the lucky folks in Korea will now have a chance to own one.

Forza Motors Korea Corporation is the one responsible for bring the stylish and ultra cool GranTurismo to the Korean Peninsula. The Italian car will no doubt turn heads in Korea as it does in nay part of the world.

According to this How Stuff Works, "Maserati says the lines of the Pininfarina Birdcage 75th concept inspired the styling, though that 2005 show car was a low slung midengine V-12 flight of fancy. The GranTurismo is a classic long-hood-short-deck front-engine coupe. Helped by a 115.7-inch wheelbase (a welcome 11 inches longer than the GT’s) the GranTurismo is wonderfully proportioned, with enough space inside to qualify as a four-passenger car rather than a tight 2+2. The open-mouth grille surrounding the Maserati trident is a direct reference to great Maseratis of the 1950s and ’60s."

The site further describes the GranTurismo as having a cabin "awash in leather, wood trim, and chrome details."  What makes it a certified plush car according to How Stuff Works is this:  "Maserati commissioned chic Italian clothing and accessory designer Salvatore Ferragamo to create a set of leather luggage custom-fitted to the GranTurismo’s trunk. The five-piece set includes a shoe carrier."

This vehicle is not all about styling as it also packs amazing power.  It is powered by an engine with an output of 405 horsepower and 339 lb-ft of torque.
